I purchased this cutter for the sole purpose of snapping hard porcelain 12 inch by 24 tiles. I couldn’t get it to reliably cut 1-2 inch rips without breaking on either side of the cut line.

This made quick work of straight cuts. I already had a tile saw; but the cuts from this were both cleaner and faster than using the saw. I did about 400 square feet of tile, and the thing still looks and works like brand new. I used both matte glazed porcelain tile and high-gloss (glass-like) tile (as well as a bit of actual glass trim) and the cutter worked with all of it. Like I said, I already had a tile saw but bought this anyway, and I’m very glad I did. This was my first choice for cutting tile — I only used the saw when a cut was too complex for this cutter.

So much faster than a wet saw and works great with 24″ tiles. You can’t easily snap off a 1″ or less section with this but for larger cuts it’s well worth the money. Works as advertised. Buy a couple practice tiles before you get started as there’s some finesse needed with the scoring that takes a bit to get used to.
