D24000 to the rescue for projects with pride
As an advanced DYIer, I found that tiling projects offered not only a functional outcome, like fixing a broken bathroom wall or floor, but an interesting artistic opportunity. When I replaced carpeting with a hardwood floor, I had the opportunity to improve the quality of the installation, but also to include designs or wood combinations that added interest to the project. I had put in tile floors using rental wet saws, and they did not accommodate my two-demand priority: functional and artistic.

Good saw, bad blade
I ordered this saw for my diy bathroom/shower tiling project. At first I installed the blade that came with it – and it was chipping cheap Mohawk porcelain tile badly. Like really bad. After about 20 cuts it got a bit better, but still the results were unacceptable. I decided to order another blade – Pearl P5 mesh and it was night and day. Now my cuts at good for visible install.

Well-built saw performs flawlessly, makes precise cuts
I’m a home-owner DIYer, not a professional. So, this saw is probably extreme overkill for me. But, I was unsure how quickly I could complete a tiling job in my spare time; didn’t want daily rental prices to mount; and have long felt that the pain of buying good tools is felt once, versus the pain of using cheaper bad tools.

Excellent blade! After watching a few reviews online about various wet saw blades, I decided to give this a try as it was highly rated on the video and fairly inexpensive. I dressed the blade before using and it is almost chip free on big box porcelain (not the highest quality tile). The only time I see chipping is when I’ve made too big of a cut and I shave a blade width off. The blade cuts fast and straight. It has a thick hub for stability, so that can interfere if you’re trying to lift the tile for curved cuts. This is one of the best 2 or 3 blades I’ve ever used (I tried a couple dozen). For the money, it can’t be beat.

Best for porcelain cuts without chipping! So I purchased a new Dewalt D36000 which came with a 10″ Dewalt blade and the issue was cutting massive 48″x24″ tile and I was getting crazy chipping on a new blade and tried everything to prevent it from chipping and I couldn’t get the results I wanted. I saw a video and took the chance to buy a new blade for a new machine and sure enough this was the answer. The beast cuts smoothly and easily. The biggest thing is that the left side of the cut is super smooth with no chips if you go slowly. The right side of the blade does chip but nothing like the Dewalt blade.

Careful with porcelain! I bought this for a direct drive, 2.5 HP wet saw. The first cuts were great, but in short order (I was cutting extremely hard 3/8″ porcelain floor tile) it started to bind, pull and spark. My bad; when cutting such a hard material the blade needs frequent “dressing”. The manufacturer recommended using a chunk of brick or concrete and making a number of small cuts in it. This would remove the glazing that the porcelain is creating and expose new diamonds, or dress the blade.
